Conceptually new WEREWOLF portal axles
Individually designed for the FORD F-150, a serial kit that installs on the factory axles and brake system.
Features:
- gears increased in size
- the modulus and strength of the gears are increased by 2.5 times
- strength increased by 60% due to the manufacture of an oblique tooth instead of a straight tooth
- 1 parasitic gear was removed
- In total, the entire assembly has become 2 times stronger.
We would like to emphasize that thanks to the removal of 1 parasitic gear, we managed to reduce the friction coefficient inside the gantry box. This made it possible to improve the operation of the portal gearbox, reduce fuel consumption and make it easier to roll the car.
The helical gears ensure smooth starting and silent operation. When starting, the tooth touches the tooth on an oblique plane, which in turn smoothes the impact. Comfort in operation has become much higher.
The new generation of portal axles uses tapered bearings. They are many times stronger than cylindrical roller bearings.
Due to the fact that we have removed one parasitic gear, we have increased the volume of lubricant, which is now 3/4 of the volume of the portal box.
The more oil, the less the gears and bearings heat up.
The hub is made as one piece with the shaft. This guarantees reduced backlash and fewer joints.
The fit of the portal axle cover and its housing has been improved by increasing the contact area. The ends have been widened to eliminate the possibility of leakage in the event of insufficient sealant application.
An important innovative solution of the
